CIF, devidamente, é um grupo de artistas que ao longo de 2019 se reunia para tomar vinho, comer azeitonas, ouvir Herb Alpert e criar obras com o material que estivesse à mão. Não se caracterizando como um coletivo, o grupo é um encontro de artistas onde cada um mantém carreira e vocabulário visual e estilístico próprio. Foram diversos encontros, em variadas configurações, às vezes eram os seis artistas, às vezes apenas três, outras vezes, artistas convidados integravam o grupo. Desenvolvendo obras que vão do óleo sobre tela a esculturas em argilas, ou desenhos em papel, ou mesmo em guardanapos de papel, cada noitada era dirigida pelos materiais disponíveis. O resultado são trabalhos não autorais, executados cada um por todos os cif ao mesmo tempo, a seis mãos ou mesmo 14 mãos, mas sem conceder a atenção dos acabamentos e soluções plásticas. Hoje, em 2021, embora temporalmente tão próximo, a experiência do grupo cif exprimia em 2019, com antecedência, a nova visualidade que despontava na época nas artes plásticas brasileiras, mais solta e livre de conceitos, mas extremamente atenta a fatura e resoluções dos temas que hoje parece estar tão presente no meio.

CIF, properly speaking, is a group of artists who met throughout 2019 to drink wine, eat olives, listen to Herb Alpert and create works with whatever material was at hand. Not characterized as a collective, the group is a meeting of artists where each one maintains their own career as well as their own visual and stylistic vocabulary. There were several meetings, in various configurations, sometimes there were six artists, sometimes only three, sometimes guest artists joined the group. Developing works ranging from oil on canvas to clay sculptures, or drawings on paper, or even on paper napkins, each evening was guided by the materials available. The result is non-copyrighted work, each executed by all the cifs at the same time, by six hands or even 14 hands, but without paying attention to the finishing touches and plastic solutions. Today, in 2021, although so close in time, the experience of the CIF group expressed in 2019, in advance, the new visuality that was emerging at the time in Brazilian plastic arts, looser and freer of concepts, but extremely attentive to the invoice and resolutions of the themes that today seem to be so present in the medium.
